As I thought about the perfect name for my blog, I knew that it had to describe some of the qualities and lessons that I learned from my deceased mother. My late mother, Rose-Marie Val Bonzil, was a strong, compassionate, wise, and resilient woman. She believed in hard work, treating others with kindness, and continuously improving herself by learning new academic and personal skills throughout the various stages of her life. She worked as a registered nurse for over 30 years and touched the lives of thousands of patients and their families.
When she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007, she underwent surgery, radiation, and courageously fought till the end. Through it all, she never complained or asked for any pity from anyone. She kept encouraging all of her loved ones and planned special holiday baking sessions with my children who were very young at the time. She took the time to remind me of the importance of serving others and bringing positivity in simple ways.
Since her passing in December of 2008, I have applied many of her valuable lessons to my personal life in order to continuously flourish. A Blossoming Woman encourages every woman to nurture all areas in their life so that they can grow emotionally, mentally, and physically. It is imperative that women understand the importance of pouring into themselves in order to be able to take care of others and fulfill their goals and aspirations. It is my desire to encourage women and teach them the importance of self-care and self-growth. My blog is a place where women will learn and share the skills necessary to stay balanced in all areas that make up their whole essence.
We must continue to grow and flourish!
